Veronica and Onajes story technically began in 2013, while attending Brush High School in Lyndhurst, OH. Although apart of a mutual friend group, the two did not speak very often at the time. Fast forward to 2019, Veronica is notified that she would be deploying to the Middle East but unbeknownst to her, Onaje would be also. The pair would not only end up deploying with the same company (H Co. 1-145 AR), but they would also be working together in the same section.


Following the first Pre- Deployment exercise, neither Veronica nor Onaje were initially fond of each other for various reasons. This would continue on both ends until the final training period where the pair would be voluntold for a detail by their Platoon Leader in hopes to settle their differences. This tactic was successful with Veronica and Onaje eventually forming a genuine friendship.


The pair would soon after transition overseas to begin their deployment, where their love story would truly begin to blossom. Veronica and Onaje officially established their relationship on the night of April 11th, 2020 in the Kuwaiti desert. Since returning from their deployment in Fall of 2020, the two have elevated together both professionally and personally. On May 27th, 2023 Veronicas 27th birthday, Onaje asked for Veronicas hand in marriage, where she gleefully said yes!
